VERIVAS PARTNERS WITH S&ST AND BIO-INVESTIGATIONS TO ADVANCE SIFO GLOBAL COMMERCIALIZATION ACTIVITIES
STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT – Verivas Solutions Inc. has signed an ROFN on SIFO (Side Illuminated Fiber Optic) for the medical market. SIFO is a paradigm shift in illumination, sensing and imaging. This transformational technology was invented by Claudio Oliveira Egalon of Science and Sensors Technology (S&ST) and is partnering with Bio-Investigations Ltd and Verivas for commercialization.

ADVANCEMENT OF SIFO GLOBAL COMMERCIALIZATION ACTIVITIES
S&ST announces that it has signed an 18-month ROFN with Verivas Solutions Inc. (VSI), headquartered in Stamford, CT. This agreement will last until 28th of February 2025 and seeks to secure commercial partners within the medical space. Ross T. Lyon, MD, President and CEO of VSI, commented on the collaboration: “SIFO is a transformational technology that has the potential to dramatically improve our sensing and imaging capabilities for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in the medical field.”
SIFO, or Side Illuminated Fiber Optics, is a technology backed by a robust portfolio of patents supporting its IP and commercial value. With applications in the entire electromagnetic spectrum, SIFO has potential applications within multiple fields, including aerospace, medical devices, industrial automotive markets, mobile devices, IT and datacom, broadband, defense, fuel cell systems, oil and purification, indoor air quality, chemical manufacturing and agriculture.
In support of SIFO, the Brazilian arm of Science & Sensors Technologies (S&ST), Egalon Consultants, announced a grant from the Brazilian funding agency FINEP, Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos (Financier of Studies and Projects). This grant, in the amount of BRL 1.5M, approximately $300K, runs through July 2025. This SIFO grant is specifically geared for hydroponic applications, to measure liquid level, temperature, conductivity, and nutrient concentrations in NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) systems.
To date, the Verivas team, led by S&ST, has several SIFO prototypes and is seeking partners to develop additional devices for the medical and industrial fields.
Claudio Egalon, PhD, is the scientist behind SIFO and an integral member of the Verivas team. He also leads S&ST in Los Angeles, USA and Egalon Consultants in São Paulo, Brazil. Recently, Dr. Egalon has stated that, “It is remarkable the opportunities that S&ST, Verivas and Bio-Investigations have to advance SIFO with the newly awarded funding from FINEP. During the selection process of this grant, SIFO prevailed over a considerable number of large corporations.”
Bio-Investigations Ltd. and S&ST have collaborated on the commercialization of SIFO since 2021.
Verivas is an incubator of innovative medical ideas and devices and has a ROFN for SIFO in the medical field.
